About Natural Stone Floors
Natural stone usually has diverse colors. No two pieces of a natural stone look exactly the same. Do not hesitate to reach out to our floor experts so we can analyze the materials used for your home’s floors.
Natural stone should be cleaned once or twice per year. The amount of time in between cleanings depends on the amount of foot traffic, the type of stone, its condition, and whether it is properly maintained.
A Gentle Clean That Stands the Test of Time
Our team can provide a free quote for your cleaning project. We analyze your floor’s condition, determine the best cleaning and maintenance approach, and get to work. We start out by preparing the area, including covering vent covers, taping off sensitive portions like baseboards, and vacuuming any debris on the surface.
We use a cutting-edge cleaning method known as hot water extraction. This approach eliminates dust, dirt, and additional moisture from the pores of the natural stone. Once the stone is fully cleaned, our team seals and polishes your floor so their natural beauty shines through with a perfect finish.
Why a Careful Clean is Necessary
Property owners often overlook natural stone, as it requires a considerable amount of care. Simply cleaning this surface with water and vinegar will not suffice. Even a general floor cleaner will prove ineffective. Generic cleaning agents are not properly formulated for natural stone floors. In fact, these cleaners can even break down the sealer, stripping it of its protective properties, and make the stone and tile grout that much more vulnerable to stains. Some cleaners also have chelating agents that dissolve minerals upon contact with hard water. Since stone is comprised of minerals, contact with such cleaners will lead to dissolving and streaking.
If your natural stone floors are not regularly maintained and cleaned by professionals, imperfections, like etch marks, will inevitably arise in due time. Let TruClean stone cleaning team tackle your cleaning project and bring your floors back to life. We can remove stains, etch marks, discolorations, and other flaws with ease. We strictly use proven natural stone cleaning solutions that do not contain potentially harmful substances. This way, there is no risk of etching away the polish, scratching the stone, or discoloring the surface.
Stone Polishing & Restoration
When your beautiful stone surfaces are damaged from everyday usage, you will need an expert to bring the life back to those surfaces. We use a number of professional processes and techniques to return your stone to its true beauty.
Grinding: This method is a very aggressive approach to refinishing stone. It uses a metal-bonded and diamond grit heavy weighted floor buffer to remove deep scratches and slippage. The goal of this method is to flatten the floor; a bonus is that it is typically dust free.
Honing: Completed after the grinding phase, this method is a much less aggressive approach than grinding. Although similar, the materials and grits used are not as coarse as they are during the grinding process. Many projects also may start with honing and skip the grinding phase. This is because it is able to remove minor to moderate scratches and etch marks in a softer manner. This method shares the same goal as grinding, ending with a flat floor.
Polishing Or Sealing: This is the next step in refinishing your stone. Coming after the honing phase, a higher grit and sometimes combinations of higher grit compounds are used to bring out a shine in your stone during this process. The final stage in refinishing your stone is sealing or finial Polish. This stage must be completed immediately after the stone has been ground, honed, or polished to ensure proper protection.
