FROM POP-UP TO BRICK-AND-MORTAR
Our brick-and-mortar store officially opened on December 14, 2019 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Tombolo Books, co-owned by Alsace Walentine and Candice Anderson, features the latest releases from some of the most renowned and rising voices in the publishing world. Tombolo Books operated as a pop-up in the Tampa Bay region for several years before settling on its Grand Central District location. Founder Alsace Walentine was the longtime events director of Malaprop's Bookstore in Asheville, NC before moving to St. Petersburg with her partner, and store co-owner Candice Anderson. Tombolo Books features all genres, from biography/memoir and science, to gardening, cooking, poetry, and fiction. The store also offers an expansive children's section with a cozy reading nook for parents and children to enjoy during their visit. Customers will also find a healthy selection of books, both fiction and non-fiction, by Florida authors, and about the state of Florida. Starting September 28th, 2020, Tombolo Books is open Monday through Friday from 10am-7pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5:30pm. Please call the store to check for changes due to Covid-19.
