About Us

The most frequent question customers ask us is “What is Detroit Style Pizza”?
Detroit style pizza is a pan pizza that has a thick crisp crust and toppings such as pepperoni and mushrooms. What makes Detroit-style pizza different from Chicago is the way the pizza is cooked. The thick, square pizza is the result of being baked in a well-oiled, square steel pan. These pans were originally used in the automotive factories, to hold parts on the assembly line.
The crust of a Detroit-style pizza is occasionally twice-baked, which gives the bottom and edges of the crust a fried or crunchy texture.

Growing up in Detroit, we worked at our Father’s Italian market and pizzeria. As soon as we were able to reach the counter in the kitchen, we were making dough for bread and pizza at nights and weekends, with our "Nonna" and Uncle Don. Many of our family members worked there and it soon became the “family business”.
